guidlines to be a youth ambasador
Must be Junior and Senior high school students;
Youth Ambassadors must maintain excellent communication with Sparkle and Rise .org at all times
It is required that all Youth Ambassadors have waivers signed by their parent(s) authorizing their participation in the Youth Ambassador Program and the use of their images in organization media and consenting to the publishing of the member’s words on the website blog, e-Newsletters, and on social media.
The Parental Authorization form is binding for as long as the member is a Youth Ambassador, unless revoked by the parent(s)
Each Youth Ambassador is responsible for raising $1,000 in donations and pledges.
There is no deadline for reaching this goal and Ambassadors become eligible for benefits when they reach their goal of $1,000.
Youth Ambassadors must clear with Sparkle and Rise staff any and all fundraising events and activities in advance of any initial organizing. This allows us to provide guidance on the initiative and to provide all necessary support to make it successful.
The aim of our Youth Ambassadors is support Sparkle and Rise awareness and fundraising efforts, while having fun. If conflict or disagreement occurs between members, the team lead from SAR to mediate and help resolve the dispute.
Many Junior and Senior high school students are responsible for completing a specified number of volunteer hours as part of an academic or extracurricular commitment. Sparkle and Rise is willing to help Youth Chapter members claim hours of volunteer service with the Chapter toward these commitments.
The Youth Ambassador is responsible for contacting a member of Sparkle and Rise staff to confirm volunteer hours served.
The Youth Ambassadors Program is an independent program of Sparkle and Rise.Students are encouraged to work together in awareness events.
A group entirely made of Youth Ambassadors can work together on fundraising toward their goal. However, their individual goal is still $1,000 each. A group of Youth Ambassadors working together should seek to raise $1,000 x the number of Youth Ambassadors in the group.
Youth Ambassadors also cannot count toward their goal any of the funds raised during adult Chapter Gala events in which they might be volunteering.
Sparkle and Rise can provide the following to support our Youth Ambassadors for fundraising and awareness events and initiatives. These include brochures, banners, fact sheets, power point presentations, and videos on Sparkle and Rise, custom posters and flyers for Youth Ambassador initiatives after office approval, e-blasts, email communication, blogging opportunities, and social media support.
Sparkle and Rise CANNOT cover the costs and overhead of Youth Ambassador fundraising events. Youth Ambassadors should aim to raise money without spending money.
In addition, Youth Ambassadors MAY NOT use funds raised to pay for the costs that result from their fundraising event. This is due to state and federal regulations and are not negotiable.
This includes any ticket sales. The price of a ticket cannot cover costs with the remainder counted as a donation.
If approaching Corporate Sponsors, Youth Ambassadors should contact Sparkle and Rise staff on how to approach these sponsors and any regulations on how Corporate sponsorships may be used.
Parents/Guardians may choose to pay for fundraising event costs, but we discourage this method as there are highly successful means of fundraising that do not burden our strongest supporters.
Youth Ambassadors cannot claim toward their fundraising goals donations received during our annual adult Chapter fundraising Gala as these donations are a result of the adult Chapter. Youth Ambassadors should seek to raise new additional funds.
We encourage Youth Ambassadors involvement in this event as a means to recruit new Ambassadors and highlight their accomplishments.
We encourage our Youth Ambassadors to consider smaller age-appropriate fundraising events and campaigns. Gala-type dinner or entertainment events require a large amount of adult involvement and therefore do not give our Ambassadors the opportunity to shine.
Youth Ambassadors should contact Sparkle and Rise staff in advance of any initial organizing of fundraising events and campaigns to ensure compliance and so staff may offer available resources in support.
