Language Studies Grant

In partnership with Salaam Baalak Trust, co-founded by Mira Nair, Sparkle and Rise is committed to empowering street and working children, who have big dreams and aspirations. 

Meet Armaan, a 19 year old boy who came to Delhi in 20212. He used to live at the old Delhi railway station and wordked as a boittle picker. In 2014 police caught him and presented hum in front of CWC (child welfare committee) and placed him at Salaam Baalak Trust’s children home. He is now currently enrolled in the BA Urdu program at Dayal Singh College, DU.

Armaan dreams of building his own academic and professional field in the development and study of the Urdu language. After graduating with his B.Ed in Journalism in Urdu, he wishes to join the civil services and even pursue a Master’s Degree. 

Armaan’s degree program from Dayal Singh College is for 2 years and the fees along with the cost of boarding for both years will cost 70,000 rubies (700-800usd)
